The Intersection of Traditional Asian Martial Arts  specializes in directing you to various instructors of traditional asian martial arts such as Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Judo, Jiujitsu, Karate, Iaido and Modern Arnis.   ITAMA has hosted 13 semianrs taught by Sensei-Guro T. Kent Nelson and has been a very good friend to us.


The Inosanto Academy of Martial Arts  www.inosanto.com                                                         This is the headquarters for one of the most well known and most respected martial artists living today, Guro Dan Inosanto.  Widely known as being the top student of the late Bruce Lee, he is also one of the worlds leading authorities in the Filipino / Indonesian / Malaysian martial arts.  Guro Kent is a certified instructor under Guro Dan and regularly trains with him several times a year for guidence in the arts of Kali, Silat, and Trapping. Nelson is also a regualr private-lesson student of Sifu David Hatch, the highest ranked person in the state of Michigan under Guro Inosanto.

 Iain Abernethy has been involved in the martial arts since childhood. Iain holds the rank of 5th Dan with both the British Combat Association (one of the world's leading groups for close-quarter combat, self-protection and practical martial arts) and Karate England (the official governing body for Karate in England). Iain regularly writes for the UK’s leading martial arts magazines and he is a member of the "Combat Hall of Fame".  One of the UK’s leading exponents of applied karate, Iain has written a number of critically acclaimed books on the practical application of traditional martial arts and is well known for his work on the pragmatic use of the techniques and concepts recorded in the traditional kata. Iain’s seminars, books, DVDs and articles have proved to be very popular with those groups and individuals who wish to practise their arts as the pragmatic systems they were originally intended to be.

This is the currrent site for Synergy Martial Arts.  Owned and operated by Shawn Kitzman, Instructor under both Guro Dan Inosanto and Sifu Paul Vunak, and is a student of Sifu David Hatch.  He aslo has an indepth study of Jeet Kune Do, the Filipino Martial Arts, and Muay Thai.  One thing he is exceptional at is the ability to convey and pass on the material, while keeping strict attention to quality control.  It is because of this ability that T. Kent Nelson studies regularly with him on a private basis.  

Sifu Paul Vunak  www.fighting.net                                                                                                                                      Progressive Fighting Systems (PFS) is an organization dedicated to teaching realistic self defense and promoting the expansion of Jeet Kune Do and the Filipino Martial Arts.  Progressive Fighting Systems was founded over 20 years ago by Paul Vunak.  Paul was trained by Dan Inosanto, Bruce Lee’s top student.  It was Dan’s encouragement that lead Paul to form PFS.  Paul’s goal is to provide his students a means to develop and grow physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.  By pursuing these ambitions, Paul hopes to ensure that Bruce Lee’s contributions to the martial arts and to humanity will never be forgotten. 

OKKO Karate Jutsu    http://www.freewebs.com/okkosensei/index.htm                                                                 Located in the United Kingdom, OKKO Karate Jutsu was formed in the June of 2005 by Sensei Malcolm McClure and Sensei Nigel Lee. It's aim was simple, to form an organisation that cared more for the art of of Self-Protection than it did about the cost. To bring an existing style of Martial Art (Wado-Ryu) and add to it with the best techniques from Kickboxing, Aikido, Judo, Boxing, Kung-Fu and Kyusho or Pressure points. By adding all the various techniques from proven Styles of Martial Arts to our own we were able to create OKKO Karate Jutsu, or "Open Karate Kickboxing Organisation" The Open wording meant that we were not going to commit ourselves to just one style, the Karate was the foundation of where we started and wanted to remain faithful to the "Way" of  Karate, the Kickboxing was to give students the chance to fight/spar with no limitations in stances or techniques.  OKKO was later to be re-named OKKO Karate Jutsu as we was very rapidly becoming a pragmatic and hollistic style utilising ground techniques, throws and locks.

Hard Target Self Defence Systems was founded in 2006.  It's objective is to provide a system that can be thought to all ages, fitness levels both male & female.  Devised from my many years of experience training in martial arts and combatives, they seek out what really works under pressure.
