The largest contributor to the Armas-Kali is the "Inosanto-LaCoste Blend". Most of his knowledge & training has come through his own personal research, the guidance of Guro Dan Inosanto, and consistent private instruction under Sifu David Hatch (Full Instructor under Guro Dan Inosanto).
As well as train the "Inosanto-LaCoste Blend" of Kali with Sifu Hatch, Nelson also received his guidance in the principles of "Balintawak Eskrima". Hatch studied Balintawak directly under Ted Buot, who was the top student of the system's founder, Anciong Bacon.
