This amazing program is 6 hour, designed to show teachers how to defend themselves in the event of having to break up a fight in the classroom, the hallway, or a direct attack on a teacher by a student.  We show the teacher how to SAFELY protect themselves and the student from serious injury until public safety can arrive.  All techniques taught are Low Risk Liability.  We cover Student vs. Student, Student vs. Teacher, and Team Teacher scenarios.  This course is a must for anybody teaching at the middle or high school level in our public education system today.

The Reality

1. FACT:  Violence in our schools is real.

3. FACT:  The teacher present at the time may be the only one there able to keep a student from being seriously injured.

SAFE Defense Action Plan: (Designed for the school as a whole)
This course teaches your school's entire staff including teachers, Public Safety and office personnel, an organized plan on how to bring them together in order to                                 REDUCE RESPONSE TIME to the scene of an active, or potential, physical confrontation between students.

To be used in conjunction with the "SAFE Defense for Educators" course,  we will help turn your staff into a well oiled machine that knows how to react quickly.  We will show you how to get the properly trained people to the scene, get coverage to the classrooms which a trained teacher has been called from, and quick relief to those back-up teachers to ensure class control at all times.   Every staff member has a predetermined job, thus cutting down on miscommunication and confusion.

7. Liability Protection:
Some teachers have the mindset that they are not going to try and stop an ongoing physical confrontation.  Other teachers will naturally try to separate fighting students.  You CAN’T stop that teacher from jumping in to help, but you can PROTECT THE SCHOOL DISTRICT by training them to do it with caution and safety for all parties involved.

School:  “Yes our teacher did put their hands on your child, because they were causing physical damage to another student, and it was done in a SAFE manor as they were trained to do so in the SAFE Defense for Educators course, in order to ensure the safety of all parties involved.”

Training and certification helps protect you from certain degrees of liability.  

Example: Police have to be trained and certify in firearms.  If they have to use deadly force the incident is possibly investigated and the officer most likely vindicated (because they're trained to use their weapon correctly).  If the officer was not trained or no longer maintained his certification, then both the officer AND the Police Department could be held LIABLE for their untrained actions on behalf of the department, despite if the incident was righteous or not.
